So, it's been a while since my last entry and I found some extra time to kill while I work on my uncles computer, transferring files from his PC to the new MacBook he recently purchased. Not a lot has changed as of late. I feel like every day I'm vexed with constantly problem solving Apple computer. Whether it be at work (where I'm payed for it), for friends, family and other randoms I can't seem to get away from Apple since I've moved to Portland. Does this mean this is the direction my life is going?
I got distracted with this stupid PC and lost my train of thought. More will come later.

Oregon Legislature. Sailing. Life
Had a chat with Dennis today. Got him all set up with the Apple computers he's going to buy for Olivia and himself. Should be a good solution for him and I know he'll be pumped on the move after he gets over the learning curve. This was all over a couple mugs of strong-ass coffee from Peetes Coffee and Tea. I was shaking by the end of our meeting.
Not only did we talk computers but we honed in on what possibilities there are within politics; both private and public sectors.
Right now I'm at a job where I can look and wear what I want to, outside the Apple t-shirt of course. If I chose to go the whole government rout I'd be stuck with collared shirts and ties with dockers slacks....I'm sure. I do think there's a certain sense of esteem and establishment that comes with the business attire. I'll probably be eating my words on hot summer days when I feel like I'm wearing a noose.
Who knows what the future holds. I just want to live comfortably. I'm more motivated to take such a job when I'm scraping by financially. Much like right now. Sucks.
Maybe I'll own a house on LO. Maybe I'll say fuck it to living in the society and leave the country. Or maybe when I get my captains license I can save up for a nice sail boat and just take off for a few years...designing and keeping up my fleet of websites via satellite internet.
Food for thought.

I Pine for Jackson...

lately it seems that I've been thinking about Jackson a lot. Most everyone I've been hanging out with lately either visited me in Jackson or lived there before. I'm already thinking about making a ski trip there sometime in February. Also, when the notion of making good money raft guiding comes to mind, I'm hesitant in completely ruling out doing it again next summer. We'll see what happens.

I love the Power Glove. It's so bad.
Remember that move The Wizard? Apprently it's on the free movies for On Demand. Definitely brought some memories back, it's the shit. Here's a little clip of its awesomeness:

Hawaii
So I've been in Hawaii for my fifth day now. The first day Lane picked me up from the airport and we immediately went to his work for cheap food and drinks and then met up with his girlfriend Cam and his other room mates. We came home afterwards and continued the fun until late in the night. The next day Lane had school for a few hours so I went with his room mates Michelle and Nathan to breakfast and then to Sandies where there was a gnarly shore break. It was so gnarly I actually didn't even go in. Instead I layed out for about five hours and got a pretty good sun burn. We met up with lane and Cam after that and got some good authentic Hawaiian food. I knew my friend Cara was back in the states somewhere after her time teaching in Korea but I wasn't sure if it was Hawaii or even what island she would be on. I ended up tracking her new number down and got ahold of her and she came to hang out. It was way good to see her. I missed my German buddy. The next day Lane, Nathan and I went to Waikiki to go surfing...only, I was still so burnt that I decided to hang out and walk around the touristy places and check out the tourist girls. After Lane and Nathan picked me up we headed to BC and got some good burritos and took a 3 hour nap until Cam got back from work. Then lane and I went shopping at Nordstrom Rack and I got a nice collared shirt and some new board shorts. Then we went to the store and got some Ahi so sear when we got back. Ended up drinking beers again and Lanes other room mate Chris was around with his squeeze too. Cara also came over again and hung out for most of the night. We were trying not to party too hard cause the next day we wanted to leave early to go to the North Shore to see Ashlin and his family as well as try out surfing on long boards a little bit. We did end up getting out of the house about 9:00 the next morning and on the way we stopped at Costco to get more cheap clothes. We spent a little time at Pipeline to check out how gnarly big it was....especially that day I guess. We then went to a place called Leftovers to swim and hang out on the beach a littile bit but when we got there we immediately noticed a surf board washing in with no body attatched to it and became worried with his friend standing anxiously on the beach. We all ran up the emankment closer to the houses so we could see better and one of the residents came out to help with binoculars. A call was made for a rescue and about 3 minutes after the swimmer was spotted. He slowly made his was across the rip back towards shore, swimming slowly to conserve energy. The rescue call was canceled and we could continue our time swimming. We ate Thai food at a local restaurant that was really good. Helped me with my jealousy for not being in Thailand with my brother. Then we went and met up with Ashlin and his pregnant wife and three kids. He looked really good and happy and he is definitely doing well for himself. We took the girls and a bunch of surf boards and went to a good shore break for a couple hours. I had a lot of trouble with this certain area because of its strong rip tide and spent most of my time paddling....wearing myself out.
After we were all spent with surfing we went back to Ivy's mom's house (Ivy is Ashlin's wife) who lives right by them and we had a BBQ....that was nice. Everyone was originally from Bend...big bend reunion. Anyway, we headed back to Honalulu after that and watched some show on discovery channel about the earth which is pretty tight, then hit the sack. Now I'm up early filling this bitch out. Lane has to go to school for a while today so I have to figure out what I'm gonna do for the better part of four hours. I figure I'll try to get ahold of Cara again in hopes that she doesn't have a lot planned for today. Otherwise I'll just go on a walk to the part of town that's closest to Lane's house and bum around.
Cool, I'm outta here

sleepy with lots to do
So today I had the idea to pack up all my shit and store it in my bro's house until I got back from Hawaii on the day our lease ends. That didn't end up happening quite like I'd hoped. My day ended up being fairly lazy other than the little trip I took with Danny to Jackson lake. Homeboy has been living in Jackson for over 6 months and hasn't been north of the airport or south of Rafter J....That's fucked up. I needed to take things into my own hands and show him what he'll be missing when he moves to San Francisco. Either way, i figured I should probably pack for Hawaii first before I take all my stuff to my bro's house only to find that I stored something I need in Hawaii. So I'll pack for Hawaii first and then haul my stuff over after seven when Bri-Guy calls.
At any rate, I have my work cut out for me tomorrow. I really look forward to visitng Lane in Hawaii but at the same time I feel guilty about not being able to go to Costa with Stefan and Brandi. Life has a way of stearing you in the right direction whether your decisions were actively made or if life just pushed you in a certain direction. This has a lot to do with how I think the whole "teaching english in Japan" thing will go. I kinda put all my eggs in one basket on this but I really have a lot pushing me in that direction. I'm feeling restless doing seasonal work here in Jackson. While it has a lot of instant gratification, I feel like I'm fairly stagnant in my efforts towards a job or career that will provide better for myself and the family that will come later....hopefully much later. Again, life will do what it will and I just have to let it do its thing.
Hopefully raft guiding and frugal efforts will abolish my credit card debt by the end of the summer. That would be a really really great feeling of freedom and accomplishment..
Casey wants a girlfriend.
Casey can't have one quite yet though.
Casey has a lot to accomplish first before he can give his full self to that special someone.
wow, I'm tired, I should have another coors and maybe hit the sack. Then I can have an early start on the day tomorrow. I think I'll listen to some of The Almost on thee ole iPod to put myself to sleep. I hope Danny isn't getting freaky with that girl in the room next to mine. If so, I might have to up the volume a bit to drown out any unwanted noises, eeeeew.
I can't quit Lauren O'neill. I want to, and don't want to. She's got me by the "heart strings" (as G.W. so elegantly put it) We'll see what happens when she comes in June. We'll just have to see.
sucks

Here goes nothing....
From recent encouraging experiences I've had, I decided to finally start my own blog. This seems a lot like what I've already done with both LiveJournal and DeadJournal when I was in Germany but I think the idea behind blogging is more a stream of consciousness and less of a personal diary...at least that's my impression. Anyway, long day of work tomorrow (double shift) so I'd better hit the sack.
